Whether you’re baking with kids, prepping for a brunch, or just want a sweet pick-me-up, this shortcut recipe makes delicious donuts without the fuss of yeast or frying.

Why Cake Mix?
Because it’s easy. Because it’s fast. And because it works.
Cake mix gives you all the flavor and texture of classic baked cake donuts, but without having to measure out a bunch of ingredients. Plus, it’s fun to play with the different flavors — think red velvet, funfetti, lemon, or classic chocolate.
You can dress these up or down depending on your mood, and they come out great every single time.

Easy Cake Mix Donuts- Supplies Used
Ingredients
- 1 yellow cake mix (or cake mix of your choice)
 - 2 eggs
 - 1/3 cup melted butter
 - 3/4 cup milk

For pink donut icing:
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
 - 1.5 tablespoons milk
 - 1/2 teaspoon strawberry emulsion
 - 1-2 drops pink food dye
 - rainbow sprinkles

For vanilla donut icing:
- 3/4 cut powdered sugar
 - 1.5 tablespoons milk
 - 3/4 tsp vanilla extract

For powdered sugar donuts:
- 1-2 cups powdered sugar

For cinnamon sugar donuts:
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
 - 2.5 tablespoons cinnamon

Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease donut pan
 - In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, butter, and milk. Mix until combined.
 - Spoon cake mix into large piping bags. I have found the easiest way to fill the donut pan is by piping the cake mix into the pan. You can also spoon the cake mix into the pan.
 - Cut the tip of the piping bag off at about 1 inch from the end. Pipe cake mix into each donut mold.

- Bake donuts at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes, removing from oven when a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

- If you’re icing your donuts, allow them to cool completely before icing them. Once donuts are cooled, mix icing ingredients in a small bowl until combined. Dip the top of each donut into the icing. Top donuts with sprinkles. Enjoy!
 - If you’re coating your donuts in powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar, place the powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar into a gallon sized bag (mixing the cinnamon and sugar together first). Working with 3-4 donuts at a time, drop donuts in the sugar while the donuts are still hot, soon after removing the donuts form the oven. Shake the donuts in the bag, coating the donuts in powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar. Remove from bag and allow donuts to cool. Keep doing this until all the donuts are finished.
 - Enjoy!

As always, if you give these a try I would love to know what you think! We love these easy cake mix donuts and I hope you do too! Don’t forget to leave a review and comment!
