Christmas Sprinkle Cookies

Christmas sprinkle cookies are a wonderful combination of soft, buttery cookies and vibrant, sweet sprinkles that scream “holiday fun!” They are colorful, festive, and easy to make, making them the perfect addition to any holiday cookie platter or gift tin. Whether you’re baking with kids or making a batch to share with friends and family, these cookies will bring smiles and holiday cheer to everyone who tastes them.

Are these the same as the Sprinkle-Rolled Sugar Cookies?

Not quite! The sprinkle-rolled sugar cookies are true classic sugar cookie. Soft and chewy, and rolled in crunchy sprinkles for added texture – they’re delicious! These sprinkle cookies have more brown sugar in them and more vanilla flavor. The cookie base is similar to that of a chocolate chip cookie.

What kind of sprinkles should I use?

I highly recommend using jimmies -they are soft and hold their color and shape while baking. The fun thing about these cookies is they are easy to customize for any event or occasion! Simply change the sprinkle colors. Let’s get baking!

Ingredients

3/4 cup of butter, room temperature

3/4 cup sugar

3/4 cup brown sugar

1 egg, plus 1 egg yolk

1.5 tbsp vanilla extract

1 tsp cornstarch

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

2 cups flour

1 cup sprinkles – preferably jimmies

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy
  3. Add in egg and vanilla, mix until combined
  4. In a separate bowl, combine all dry ingredients
  5. Slowly add the dry ingredients into the butter mixture, mix until just combined. Do not overmix!
  6. Scoop dough and roll into even balls
  7. Roll dough in Christmas jimmies, covering the top and edges of dough with sprinkles.
  8. Bake for 8 minutes, edges should just be light.
  9. Enjoy!

  • These were so quick and easy to make. The kiddos devoured them!! What a great classic recipe. I can’t wait to use these all year with different sprinkle colors. 🎄❤️

  • I made these for a Christmas party for the cheer squad I help coach. They were so simple to throw together, and I customized the sprinkles to match our school colors. They turned out amazing, and I didn't come home with a single cookie! Instant classic!
