Grinch Crinkle Cookies
The holiday season is the perfect time for baking, and what better way to bring a little extra cheer to your festivities than with a batch of Grinch cookies? These fun, green, and delicious treats are inspired by the classic Dr. Seuss character, the Grinch, who, despite his initial grumpy nature, learns the true meaning of Christmas. These Grinch-inspired cookies are sure to bring a smile to anyone who enjoys the festive spirit—and maybe even the Grinch himself!
Why Make Grinch Cookies?
The Grinch is an iconic figure in holiday culture. The Grinch has become a symbol of transformation, redemption, and joy during the Christmas season. Grinch cookies are a fun, playful way to celebrate this timeless character and bring a little whimsy to your holiday gatherings.
Not only are Grinch cookies visually fun, but they also taste absolutely delicious. Soft, chewy, and simple to make, these cookies are a perfect treat to enjoy with family, friends, or even little ones eager to get in the holiday spirit.
Ingredients
- White Cake Mix
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil (can use melted butter as a substitute if you’d like)
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3-5 drops of neon green food dye
- Powdered sugar for rolling cookies
- Red M&Ms, or heart sprinkles if you have them!
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- In a mixing bowl combine your cake mix, oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and food dye. Can also use an electric mixer if you’d like, but these ingredients come together very easily and do not require anything more than a bowl and a spoon!
- Scoop cookies, I like to use my 1/2 ounce cookie scoop. Roll cookies into smooth balls, then roll in powdered sugar.
- Place powder sugar-coated cookie balls on a non-stick cookie sheet and bake for 8 minutes.
- While cookies are still warm, place 2 red M&Ms on each cookie in the shape of a heart. If using heart sprinkles, you can do this step before baking. If you try to do this before baking with the M&Ms they will spread out of the shape of your heart (ask me how I know!)
- Allow cookies to cool, and enjoy these fun and festive Grinch Crinkle Cookies!
