It’s the season for all things pumpkin and I am here to give you all the great fall recipes! This pumpkin donut bundt cake is so moist, delicious, and has the perfect amount of pumpkin pie spices blended in.

Why You’ll Love this Cake

  • This cake is so moist and is a great seasonal treat!
  • I love doctoring up a cake mix- this cake uses a boxed yellow cake mix and I make no apologies for this, it is so good!
  • This cake takes less than 10 minutes to whip up, make it super easy but also tastes like you spent a lot of time in the kitchen!

Recipe Notes

  • I love this cake as-is. The cinnamon sugar sprinkled on top is delicious. But if you’re a fan of Cream Cheese Frosting feel free to to make a pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting like I did here. Both recipes use the same base cake recipe, it just depends on your preference!
  • I always use salted butter in my baking, if anything just out of habit. However if you do not have salted butter on hand – no worries. Just add 1/2 tsp of salt to your batter.

Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup salted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 -15oz can pumpkin puree
  • 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoon butter, melted (reserved to brush on baked cake)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar + 1 tbsp cinnamon, mixed (reserved to use for sprinkling on finished cake). You may not use all of this for this cake – save the leftovers for the next time you make it! 🙂

Directions

  • Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 1/2 cup butter.
  • Combine melted butter, sugar, eggs, milk, & pumpkin. Mix until combined.
  • Add cake mix, 1 tsp cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice, mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until fully combined.
  • Grease bundt cake with non-stick cookie spray or coat pan with butter.
  • Pour batter into pan, bake for 35 min for a bundt cake.
  • Let cake cool for 30 minutes
  • Melt 3 tbsp butter, brush onto baked cake
  • Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar mixture on to cake after brushing butter. You may not use the entire amount of cinnamon sugar mix – that’s okay! Save the leftovers for next time you make this cake.
  • Enjoy!
